Gwen’s 4th Birthday!

Our little girl is growing up right before our eyes! I have no earthly idea where the last 4 years went, but they sure did fly by. I know it’s said many, many times by parents, but honestly… I really feel as though she was a 6 month old baby just yesterday. It’s bizarre how time floats by…

We celebrated the little princess in true princess style with a surprise “Princess” themed birthday party, right here at our house, just us. It was perfect.

I had to set the stage though. See, typically we would surprise the kids with their birthday surprise right after school, but Gwen’s birthday was on a Saturday, so we waited an extra day. Daddy had to take her out of the house for a little bit and the only place she wanted to go was to the mall. So, to the mall Daddy went. Did I mention Daddy hates the mall. Like, literally despises it. But, Gwen is wrapped around all 10 of his fingers, so, what Gwen wants, Gwen gets. ๐Ÿ˜‰

About 45 minutes into their Daddy/Daughter date, he sends me this video of Gwen being in awe over this dress store she saw in the mall and just HAD to go in. It’s adorable. She wants this one, and that one, and this one, and of yeah… that one too. And, this one for Mommy. Bless her soul.

After a couple hours, they both came home and I think Gwen was pretty excited to what she came home to. She got the “castle” she wanted and the princess cake. She opened her presents and then we had cake. It was perfect. She was SO excited to turn 4 and her big day didn’t disappoint.

Her Favorite Pose

I’m so beyond lucky to be Gwen’s mommy. She’s the most kind, affectionate, and silly little girl and I just can’t get enough of her. She makes little friends wherever she goes and is adored by all those who know and love her. But no one more than Mommy & Daddy.

As we like to say…

๐Ÿ’“ Mommy: “I love you”

๐Ÿ’“ Gwen: “I love you more”

๐Ÿ’“ Mommy: “I love you most”

It’s our thing

Dear Universe,

Please protect my sweet little Gwen. Keep her safe, happy, and filled with laughter. Make sure she knows each and every second how much she’s loved. Whisper to her constantly that Mommy & Daddy think she’s the most precious gift ever and that she’s the apple of our eye. And, please, if you don’t mind, keep her little forever so I don’t have to agonize over the teen years when the wrath is unleashed (by her Daddy) when boys are no longer gross to her. ๐Ÿ™
