I self-nominate. I’ve really tried to steer clea

I self-nominate. I’ve really tried to steer clear of speaking to all the issues our society is facing at the moment, but just because I choose to be distant, it doesn’t mean I don’t care. I care deeply, sometimes too much. Call me naive, but I want to see the positive in everything and lately, I’ve been tested. Sometimes there are no positives. However, just because positivity may not be there, seeing the beauty in all things is what I’ve chosen to do. While I don’t find rioting beautiful at all, peaceful and focused protests are unapologetically beautiful. We’re a bit broken at the moment, but we’re not destroyed. We need to learn from our mistakes and actually aspire to create new paths. Change is a GOOD thing. But, change doesn’t have to mean erasing the past. History is important, even when it’s less than beautiful. Life is determined by the choices YOU make, not by the life given to you. Everyone has a chance. Everyone has a voice. We are equal.
